I enrolled in the masterclass after two years of inconsistent swing trading on HOSE stocks. The flag pattern module gave me a repeatable entry framework — I now wait for the breakout-and-retest sequence instead of buying the first green candle. My journal shows fewer trades but better R-multiples, though I still overtrade small caps occasionally.

The pullback workshop was exactly what I needed for EUR/USD on the four-hour chart. Hoa's retracement depth rules are strict — sometimes too strict for fast-moving news weeks — but having a written checklist stopped me from guessing where to enter.

Duc's risk clinic changed how I think about stop placement on continuation trades. I used to set stops at arbitrary pip counts; now they go beyond the last swing low with a buffer. One session felt short for the fee, honestly, but the follow-up email with my personalised sizing table was thorough.

As a finance graduate preparing for a prop desk interview, the chart marking drills in fundamentals class were invaluable. Minh asked me to classify ten charts in twenty minutes — brutal but realistic. I got the internship; whether that was because of the school or my degree, I cannot say for certain.

I came back for a second masterclass cohort at the repeat rate because my first attempt at applying flag entries on crypto charts was messy. The second time through I focused on invalidation rules and it clicked. The classroom atmosphere is serious — not a motivational seminar.

The printed workbook alone is worth keeping. Fifty pages of marked continuation setups on VN30 and S&P e-mini charts. I disagree with some of Minh's trend line placements but the debates in class helped me articulate why I draw them differently.

Case study: Flag entry on VN30 futures

Participant: Thao Nguyen · Program: Trend Continuation Masterclass, cohort Q3 2025

Thao arrived with a habit of entering HOSE equities on the first breakout candle, often getting stopped out when price pulled back to retest. During week four of the masterclass, the cohort marked a VN30 index futures flag pattern from a July consolidation.

The exercise required identifying: (1) the prior impulse leg that established the trend, (2) the parallel channel of the flag, (3) the volume contraction during consolidation, and (4) the retest entry after the upper boundary break. Thao's initial markup placed the entry on the breakout bar; Minh's feedback moved it to the retest wick with a stop below the flag low.

Thao applied the same sequence to three HOSE positions over the following month. Two hit target at the measured move; one stopped out when the flag low broke — which, per the course rules, was a valid invalidation rather than a failed prediction. She reported in a follow-up email that waiting for the retest reduced her trade count by roughly a third while improving average R on winners.

This case describes practice exercise outcomes and self-reported journal data. It is not investment advice or a guarantee of trading results.
